Turnaround
I found this photo of my daughter from a couple of years ago and decided to focus on the gesture of the figure turning. Anna has been my main model since her early teens. The mother/ daughter - artist/model has led to a close relationship with a lot of time for converstation, listening to music, and books on tape. Now she is transitioning into an adult, it is a new passage for the whole family as the youngest child gets ready to sprout wings and make her own decisions. Anna and I were pondering what to name the painting when a song that I used to sing the kids popped into my head, Turnaround by Malvina Reynolds.
Where are you going, my little one, little one,
Where are you going, my baby, my own?
Turn around and you're two,
Turn around and you're four,
Turn around and you're a young girl going out of my door.
Turn around, turn around,
Turn around and you're a young girl going out of my door.
