First Try

This is named "First Try" for a reason. This is my first painting for the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge AND it is my first try with the Terry Ludwig Portrait Pastel set that I put together. I limited the pastels to only the 30 that are within the set. I chose cool light and warm shadow for this pose. I am going to play with different skin tones and different lighting to test the versatility of the set.

Beautiful. Had no idea it was pastel. My 5 x 7 is feeble compared to this. Maybe I'll do better tomorrow! Thank you for sharing--it will inspire me.

Thank you, Ellie. I'm glad you are taking the painting challenge too! I ofter work small and 5x7's are just as hard as larger paintings. I look forward to seeing your work.
