Expressive Mark Making for Pastel Painters- Two Day Online Workshop

May 14th and 15th 2022. 10am-5pm EST

Pastels are often thought of as a drawing medium but they can be just as painterly as oils or acrylics depending on how you apply them.  By varying pressure and using the full length and width of pastel sticks you can create a variety of marks that will take your pastel paintings to a new level.  

You will learn-

•  how to hold the pastel for a more painterly application.
•  how to create more expressive marks.
•  how to vary your mark making to give each stoke a purpose.
•  how to apply the pastel to make a painting more dimensional.
•  how and why to use different types of washes.
•  how to add texture to your painting.
• how to mix luminous color through layering.
• the secret of blending colors without using your fingers.

This online workshop will be taught through a series of exercises that will build your knowledge and confidence.  Along with instruction and personal critique each student will also receive an ebook with all of the information that is covered.   The workshop will be recorded and you will receive a link so the lessons can be reviewed at your leisure.
