Since art museums around the world are closed I thought I could bring the museum to you, showing you one of my favorite paintings from the Detroit Institute of Arts, Willard Metcalf's"Unfolding Buds."

Metcalf had an uncanny eye for recording weather and light and this painting captures that oh so short time when the brilliant light of spring begins to warm the earth and sets the growing season in motion.

I created this for my Patreon site because the subdued color palette Metcalf used illustrates the "ishy" colors we have been studying. I am making the video public because it is a beautiful depiction of spring and the hope that the comes with the unfolding buds.
