I love pears. My personal favorite is the Bosc pear from the local orchards.  They are tops to eat as well as to paint.  For eating nothing else compares to the delicate crunchy sweetness and I can never taste a transported grocery store variety without suffering disappointment.  For painting they are close to the female figure but in fruit form. Their color is a rusty neutral that goes well with anything.  I just recently found a site that shares my enthusiasm called Pearathon.com-the art of the pear.  I am not sure who it is that is hosting the site but a lot of artist are responding to the call to post their pears. Here are my entries.
