Thank you so much, Vianna, for this post. Not all painters are visual story tellers, but I feel they should try to be. The way I see it, the artist as shaman is a responsibility to society, or art cannot survive these times. As our friend Bill Creevy recently said, "art is not art unless it says something. If it doesn't say anything then its just decoration.."
