I should have read this blog before my painting session today. I had a very busy, highly detailed painting going on till I threw it on the floor, sprayed the surface wit water and painted wet into wet (acrylics. Then I mopped, I added paint, I drew into it and sprayed it again in strategic places. I set it out to dry on the lawn in the sun. The brilliant color that was there before had magically been toned down. The multitude of lines that were there, were softened and a whole lot of blending happened. I came away happier. Letting loose freed it up--and made for a good time, if not a good painting? It's nice to know an artist of your calibre shares these problems and is willing to talk about them.
