Glad you enjoyed the post. I think the best part of learning a new medium is the difference in the clarity of color. I am currently learning watercolor. I love the clear fresh hues you can get with it. My biggest issue is letting the water do what it wants without mucking around while it dries. I am waiting for my watercolor muse to speak a bit louder. With pastel you can experiment with really laying on the light colors nice and thick. That will help with the illusion of depth. It is also something you cannot do in watercolor. Have fun!
